The conjugated compound is slightly twisted with a dihedral angle of 29.3° between the benzene and pyrrole rings. Two inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions lead to a dimer. In the crystal, intermolecular C-H⋯O interactions generate an inversion dimer.

Mol-ecules connected through these hydrogen bonds are arranged into polymeric chains extending along the c axis.
